Many pastors and church leaders are stretched thin.
Not just spiritually, but administratively.
70%
of pastors report regular burnout
Administrative tasks are a common cause of burnout such as managing schedules, events, updating systems, responding to constant emails, texts, and messages.
80%
work extra hours without additional compensation
This demonstrates how ministry responsibilities extend far beyond a typical workweek.
of churches do not offer a sabbatical program
Of the churches that do offer one, most require long waiting periods before a pastor even qualifies (e.g., 4–7 years).
of pastors feel overwhelmed by administrative work
Ministry leaders are spread too thin across tasks because they are responsible for tasks like scheduling volunteers week to week, overseeing Planning Center, managing communication platforms and tools, training volunteers on systems, etc.

What We Believe
Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became fully human while remaining fully divine. Born of the virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit, he lived a sinless life, performed miracles, was crucified, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven.
John 1:14 // Matthew 1:18 // 2 Corinthians 5:21 // 1 Timothy 2:5 // Matthew 28:18 // John 14:1–3
Jesus Christ
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who know, love, and glorify one another.
Deuteronomy 6:4 // Matthew 3:16–17 // Matthew 28:19 // 1 Peter 1:1–2 // John 10:29–30 // 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Trinity
God’s people, through the new covenant, are already united with Christ and share in his victory over sin and death. The universal church is expressed in local congregations, each under Christ’s headship, and serves as God’s household and the foundation of truth.
Ephesians 2:14-16, 19-22 // Matthew 28:18–20 // John 13:34
The Church
Salvation is secured by Jesus and revealed throughout Scripture, is applied to believers by the Holy Spirit. Sent by the Father and the Son, the Spirit glorifies Christ, convicts the world, and gives new life, leading sinners to repentance and faith. Through the Spirit, believers are united with Christ, justified by grace through faith, and adopted into God’s family. He renews, sanctifies, and equips them with spiritual gifts, dwelling within them as the guarantee of their inheritance and empowering them for godly living and service.
Ezekiel 36:25–27 // John 14:16–17 // 1 Corinthians 12:1–11
The Holy Spirit
God created human beings, male and female, in His image to reflect His character and steward creation. Adam and Eve were made to live in fellowship with God and care for His world. Both men and women are equal in value and access to God through Christ and are called to meaningful roles in family, church, and society. While equal, they are designed to complement one another in distinct and mutually enriching ways.
Genesis 1:27–28 // Genesis 2:18–23 // 1 Corinthians 11:11–12
Humanity
The glorious return of Jesus Christ will come as the Judge to establish His kingdom fully. At His return, both the just and unjust will be raised—those who rejected Him to eternal punishment, and believers to eternal joy in God’s presence in the new heaven and new earth. All evil, brokenness, and injustice will be removed, and creation will be renewed in Christ. The church will be presented blameless before God, and all things will reflect the glory of his grace as his people rejoice in his holiness forever.
Revelation 19:11–16 // Revelation 21:1–5 // Ephesians 1:9–10 // Luke 12:4–5

True Cost of Hiring an In-House Administrator
When a church hires a full-time employee, it’s not just salary. Employers in the U.S. typically pay 1.25×–1.4× an employee’s base salary once you include payroll taxes and benefits. Hiring Administry is a cost-saving way of protecting your church's finances and provides an option to sow into other areas of the church.
The Base salary for a Church Administrator is $40,000 – $50,000/year as opposed to partnering with Administry for $9,588 - $21,588/year.
True Cost of Hiring an In-House Administrator
Even though churches and most 501(c)(3) nonprofits are tax-exempt from income tax, they still must pay employer payroll taxes when they hire staff.
501(c)(3) organizations must withhold and match Social Security (6.2%) and Medicare (1.45%) taxes for employees earning more than $108.28/year. This means nonprofits pay 7.65% on top of wages just for FICA taxes.
Some nonprofits (and most other than churches) also pay unemployment taxes (SUTA) and potentially other state taxes.
Payroll Taxes
1
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that nonprofit employee compensation (wage + employer-paid benefits) is generally higher than for for-profits:
-
Nonprofit workers (overall) had an average total compensation of ~$47.85/hour in certain service sectors, with a significant portion going toward employer-paid benefits like health insurance and retirement plans — often higher than for-profit employers.
This means churches and nonprofits should expect benefits plus salary totals to be materially higher than just the base salary number alone.
Employer Compensation Costs Are Higher for Nonprofits
2
Analyses of U.S. employment costs consistently show:
-
Payroll taxes alone add at least 7.65%
-
Employers often budget an additional health insurance, retirement, PTO, workers’ comp, and other benefits, which can easily add 20–40% or more to a base salary.
So for a hypothetical church administrator position:
✔ Base salary: $45,000/year
✔ Employer payroll taxes: $3,442/year (7.65%)
✔ Health insurance & typical benefits (if provided): $5,000–$15,000+
✔ Retirement match, PTO, training, compliance admin costs: $2,000–$8,000+
➡️ Total effective employer cost could be $60,000–$75,000+
(This aligns with how nonprofit employers should account for compensation costs.)
The True Cost of an Employee Often Exceeds Base Wages by 20-40%
3
Hiring an employee doesn’t stop at wages:
-
You must manage payroll processing and compliance with federal/state labor laws.
-
You must file the appropriate tax forms, maintain timesheets, W-2s, unemployment insurance records, etc.
-
Recruiting and onboarding carries costs — paid job ads, background checks, interviewing hours, etc.
These overhead and risk management costs are often not factored in church budgets but are real expenses that can easily run hundreds to thousands annually.
Administrative Overhead and Compliance Costs Are Additional
